For decades, it stood firm and silent in the cork oak forest, facing the winds, the sun, and the changing seasons. It nurtured the earth, provided shelter, and kept time etched in its deep cork bark.

Today, its mission is not over; it has merely changed its location.

The GUARDIÃO brings that same ancient and serene presence into the home. The cork oak trunk, carrying the strength and truth of its original life, now rises to support light. Where it once guarded the landscape, it now embraces and protects the space where it rests, filtering a warm and calming glow that invites silence and contemplation.

It is not just a floor lamp. It is a silent guardian of nature that continues to fulfil its role, bringing strength, calm, and a deep soul to every moment.

Process

Each LAMS Woodcrafts combined piece is where the solidity of wood meets the lightness of raffia – two distinct materials, handcrafted with the same respect and dedication. The cork oak trunk and the surrounding cork or bark are shaped by time and then artisanally transformed, cleaned, sanded, treated against insects and fungi, and pore-filled before receiving a smooth finish with natural oils and beeswax, preserving the marks, cracks, and imperfections that tell their story. The lampshade, in turn, is born from a manually shaped and welded wire frame, into which paper raffia is interwoven, fibre by fibre, creating a unique pattern of shadow and light. This process combines technique, patience, and sensitivity, resulting in pieces that do not hide the hand of their maker. We value the natural rhythm of the materials and celebrate their authenticity – because we believe that true beauty lies in imperfection. We produce with passion, in a handcrafted and sustainable way, creating objects that go beyond functionality – they are living expressions of nature transformed with dedication and art.
